Raising awareness of depression in hopes of preventing suicides.
The Johnny Foundation would like to thank you for your support and contribution to the 9th annual Johnny Leathers, Jr. Memorial Golf Tournament held on April 28th, 2012. We were blessed to have 82 golfers, 10 volunteers, breakfast provided by Chick-fil-A of Canton, pre-game bagpipe music by Tom, silent auction by Heritage Charity Auctions and Awards, photography by Michael Beck, and another great day on the Woodmont Golf & Country Club course. (check out the tournament pictures www.grockit.smugmug.com) click on "sports", "Johnny Foundation Golf Tournament 2012" and enter password "bogey" if necessary)
We are so thankful to have raised $15,000 again this year. This year's funds will continue to support the AFSP's Interactive Screening Program (ISP) at Emory University, Agnes Scott and Kennesaw University. Suicide is currently the second most common cause of death among college students and your generous support will help us fund the very lifeline that can be used to reach these students before it is too late.
The Johnny Leathers is also blessed be able to continue funding the memorial funds with Paraclete Counseling (www.paracletecounseling.com) in Suwanee, GA, and Family Psychological Center in Roswell, GA. (www.brendawagnerphd.com) These funds are set aside to assist with funding counseling for anyone suffering with depression but not able to pay for sessions. Anyone needing assistant may contact the centers and mention The Johnny Foundation for assistance.
We may never know how many lives will be touched because of your generosity and we are blessed to have your support. Please continue to keep us in your prayers as we strive to shine God's light by providing help and hope to those who struggle with an illness that makes them believe they will live the worst day of their life every day of their life.
Thank you for being a blessing to The Johnny Foundation and our family,
Wayne, Lisa, Trish and Tina
